Learning Music-Dance Representations through Explicit-Implicit Rhythm Synchronization

چکیده
Although audio-visual representation has been proven to be applicable in many downstream tasks, the of dancing videos, which is more specific and always accompanied by music with complex auditory contents, remains challenging uninvestigated. Considering intrinsic alignment between cadent movement dancer rhythm, we introduce MuDaR , a novel xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Mu sic- xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Da nce xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">R epresentation learning framework perform synchronization dance rhythms both explicit implicit ways. Specifically, derive based on visual appearance motion cues inspired rhythm analysis. Then are temporally aligned counterparts, extracted amplitude sound intensity. Meanwhile, exploit coherence implied audio streams contrastive learning. The model learns joint embedding predicting temporal consistency pairs. music-dance representation, together capability detecting rhythms, can further applied three tasks: (a) classification, (b) retrieval, (c) retargeting. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our proposed outperforms other self-supervised methods large margin.

During the past decades, the symbol grounding problem, as has been identified by Harnard [Harnard, S. (1990). The symbol grounding problem. Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 42, 335-346], became a prominent problem in the cognitive science society. The idea that a symbol is much more than a mere meaningless token that can be processed through some algorithm, sheds new light on higher brain functi...
متن کاملMeasuring the Effectiveness of Explicit and Implicit Instruction through Explicit and Implicit Measures
Many studies have examined the effect of different approaches to teaching grammar including explicit and implicit instruction. However, research in this area is limited in a number of respects. One such limitation pertains to the issue of construct validity of the measures, i.e. the knowledge developed through implicit instruction has been measured through instruments which favor th...
متن کاملModeling Rhythm Similarity for Electronic Dance Music
A model for rhythm similarity in electronic dance music (EDM) is presented in this paper. Rhythm in EDM is built on the concept of a ‘loop’, a repeating sequence typically associated with a four-measure percussive pattern. The presented model calculates rhythm similarity between segments of EDM in the following steps. 1) Each segment is split in different perceptual rhythmic streams. 2) Each st...
متن کاملImplicit and Explicit Body Representations
Several forms of perception require that sensory information be referenced to representations of the size and shape of the body. This requirement is especially acute in somatosensation in which the main receptor surface (i.e., the skin) is itself coextensive with the body. This paper reviews recent research investigating the body representations underlying somatosensory information processing, ...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Rhythm Similarity Model for Electronic Dance Music
This research investigates rhythmic similarity in Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Rhythm in EDM is built on the concept of a ‘loop’, a repeating pattern often associated with a four-measure percussive pattern. In our model, music tracks are segmented using a structural segmentation algorithm developed in previous research, and features are extracted from the audio. A segment is split into differe...
